The main purpose of the sports complex is to function as a training base and the youth academy of the football club Ludogorets, which is the current Bulgarian soccer champion.
The project includes two standard size football fields, covered with natural and artificial grass, two mini-football fields, specialized training stairs and ramps and athletics track.
Due to the large displacement of the existing terrain, the football fields are situated on two levels surrounded by green slopes.
The building, which has a uniting role, has two levels in order to effectively service the terrains. It's developed as a single volume with simple spatial connections. The first level has a specific function, serving professional football players. The main level is focused on the public function. There is a coffee shop with a fan shop, conference room and a gym with an amazing view of the athletic track and football fields. Both functional levels flow into each other through open central staircase.
The sports complex is a private investment, which sparked a high public interest. In the short time of use it reached two major goals: satisfaction of the football players and imposing standard which builds competitive spirit and motivates sports development of children. Currently over 160 children are training soccer in the complex.
The Sports Center lately named Eagles Nest has won the special prize "For regeneration, innovation and significant social effect" in the National Contest "Building of the Year - 2012", www.buildingoftheyear.bg
